A Vacuum Cleaner Comparsion – What to Look For
If you are in the market for a new vacuum cleaner, it is important to do a vacuum cleaner comparison in order to choose one that will fit all your needs, and stay within your budget. There are several different types of vacuums, all with many different variables and features. Below is a list of the most important aspects to consider when comparing vacuum cleaners.
1) Filter type. The HEPA filter is the most popular and well known type. However, there are other types of filters out there that are effective in removing allergens from the floor and air. The most important thing to look for here is the sophistication of the filter system.
2) Power of the motor. (How many amps?) This is important in determining the strength of the vacuum but is not the only factor. If a vacuum runs on high amps, chances are it will create a stronger suction than a model that runs on less. However, there are exceptions. Just because one unit might have higher amps than another, doesn’t necessarily mean it will be stronger. A more important factor is the next one.
3) Air flow in cubic feet per minute. This number will determine the strength of the vacuum.
4) Dust collecting system. Both a bag and a bagless canister system work well. The decision here is simply which method you prefer.
5) Accessories. There are many different types of extensions for most vacuum cleaners. Figure out which ones you need, and purchase a unit that comes with everything you require. Do not buy a vacuum cleaner that has more attachments than you need, though. They are expensive and you can save a lot of money by not getting extras that you will never use.
6) Price and warranty. Obviously, you want to buy the lowest priced unit that will perform the best and be the most durable. However, when you do a vacuum cleaner comparison, don’t forget to look at the specifics of the warranty being offered.
